Soul Mate Astrology

We all would like to find our “soul mate”, the perfect partner for ourselves. The partner that we can blissfully co-exist without any conflicts, the partner that would just ‘know’ us. A dream but never a reality. With two highly complex people involved from diverse backgrounds there will always be conflict and differences. It is how we manage the differences and conflict that is important. Astrology can help by reducing the differences between couples by reveailing special connections between people, be they good or bad.

In Astrology the science of relationship analysis is called Synastry.

Not sure if it is a science or an art. It is an intriguing and complex process that examines the energies of the individual soul mates and how those energies interact. Whether they complement each other, do they enhance each other or are they destructive towards each other. You can imagine two waves. When they are in sync they enhance each other, when they are out of sync they cancel each other out. I think the word Synastry comes from the word Synergy which is the interaction of multiple elements from the Greek meaning working together.

The analysis starts with your natal or birth chart. This is the chart that shows the positions of the planets, the sun and the moon at the instance of your birth. It is dependent on the exact time and location of your birth.

If you do not have one yet you will need to have one drawn up for you.

Both you and your partner need to have a chart obviously. You can then compare the charts. This will show patterns of interaction. These are very complex and you will need to have an astrologist to interpret them for you.

Of all the planets, Venus of course, is the most important. She is the planet of love and romance.

Venus is the Goddess of Love.

Great minds and intelligent men and women have examined the issue of attraction through the ages and we are still no closer to the answer. Some time the attraction is so obvious and others so obscure. Sometimes it is so obvious that we do not even see it. Other times it is so destructive yet we continue down that road. I have experienced both and when I look back I thing ‘What was I thinking, or was I thinking at all’. I will never understand.

If the great thinkers of mankind cannot figure this out, how will we.

The large majority of those thinkers did not turn to Astrology, or more specifically, Synastry for answers. Armed with our secret store of knowledge we will attempt to answer this vexing question. In this area Venus rules supreme, she rules attraction pleasure, romance and union. The other planets and factors influence this course but she is the Goddess.

The correct interaspects for Venus are almost essential for couples to have a lasting and meaningful relationship.

(Interaspects are the of Venus are the aspects that Venus makes with other planets. Aspects are the angles between the various planets). By checking yours and your soul mates charts you can see your individual views and approaches to love and relationships. This gives an indication how you will together handle the up and downs associated with love between two souls. You should be looking for someone with the courage and staying power to tough out the hard times and and be loving, gentle and caring as well as generous during the good times. Having a soul mate that is able to enjoy the good times is as important as having one that can endure the tough times. Narrow minded and mean spirited individuals are to be avoided at all costs no matter what you body is telling you.

When comparing the two charts try to pick up on the similarities and the differences.

The fact there are many differences is not a bad thing and the fact there are many similarities is not necessary a good thing. There needs to be a balance of the two so that you can complement each other. Where the one is weak the other is strong.

Where Venus is positioned in our natal chart determines the roles we play when trying to for soulmate attractions. This is not flirting in the shallow sense of the word, this is how we are when we are with our soul mate, the one on one love relationship be it on the first date or golden wedding anniversary. This ‘role’ is not an act they are traits that are activated by our soul mate and when we are in love.
